Yes, that's me. Super-Aquarian! Sun and five planets in Aquarius. I am sooo Aquarius it's scary. There was a rare conjunction of five planets in Feb. 1962. That means that the children born then all have their first houses in Aquarius. Instead of a mix of signs, we are hyper-concentrated in Aquarius.

So what does that mean? Well, Aquarius is a Fixed, Masculine Air sign -- talk about contradictions! The primary energy of Aquarius is change -- the Reformer (born activist). Aquarians are agents of change, have a need to be different, innovative and unconventional. Their primary element is air -- the mind, intellect and communication. Aquarians also tend to be idealists who relate better to "humanity" than to individuals. Some famous Aquarians include Gertrude Stein, Betty Friedan, Alice Walker, Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Audre Lorde, and George Washington.

Llewellyn's Astrological Calendar describes Aquarius this way: "This sign is ruled by the planet Uranus, the bringer of the unpredictable, the head of the Department of One Never Knows. So as wild and crazy a planet as Uranus is, this sign, his envoy, is just about always ready to shock and amaze the masses, to rebel against whatever everyone else is doing, and make darned sure they notice it. Planets in this sign are into their personal freedom like no others. They insist on creating their own rules, fighting city hall whenever possible, and deliberately breaking tradition. They adore change, especially of the sudden kind. Abrupt reversals are their specialty, so others often perceive them as erratic, unstable, or unreliable energies. But as changeable as it seems to be, Aquarius is a fixed air sign, so when it commits to a cause or to an intellectual ideal, it's really committed. Aquarian planets are often much better at friendship than love -- they value being with like-minded folk, and need to be with those kindred spirits to recharge."

The astrological symbol for Aquarius is a person pouring water. The water is seen as humanity's collective consciousness. It depicts Aquarians as disseminators of the spirit of humanity. Many Aquarians are idealists who champion the highest principles to which humanity can aspire. However they are also extremely independent thinkers. They are stubborn and resist changing their opinions or accepting new ideas that they do not like or with which they do not agree. Big changes in life are accepted as a challenge, but small changes that throw off their plans are not tolerated well. When confronted with authoritarian demands or dogmatic principles to which they do not subscribe, they rebel. They may hesitate to take the initiative at times, but once they decide a situation or idea is worthwhile, they became involved and aggressive in pushing it forward. They don't mind being asked to do something but they resent being told to do it. Those who want to gain their favor will help share the work load without being asked.

The other two major influences on my chart are Virgo rising and a moon in Gemini.

Virgo rising is the element many of you will have seen in me. The rising sign is how we deal with our environment and what most people will see first. Virgo is the analyst. Virgo is a perfectionist. The sign that has a keen eye for details, trouble-shooter endowed with the gift of seeing how something can be improved. This sign is wonderful at lists, agendas, and schedules. Virgo rising helps bring order and a plan of action.

And then there is the inner self. The side that most will never see. The moon represents the inner-self and emotions -- and mine is also another symbol of change, Gemini. Moon in Gemini means that emotional reactions are quick and varied, based more on thoughts than actual feelings. Gemini moon has insatiably curiosity, finding security in knowing.

With eight signs in the masculine polarity, I am outgoing, logical, expressive and aggressive. Eight signs are also fixed, meaning I am focused, persistent and stubborn. And most signs are in air, meaning I am hyper-intellectual, social, communicative and changeable. With so much air, the only thing keeping me grounded is the Virgo rising.

What this all leads to is an aggressive intellectual idealist bent on changing the world. Those of you who know me will recognize this picture of me.
