Dearest Friends,
Happy Beltaine!
We have been very busy indeed. Lots of news, some good and some bad. When last you heard from me I had just completed the first draft of my Master's thesis. Well, the final draft is finished and approved by the committee. In fact, they thought it was great. So it is official, I will be receiving a Master's in Anthropology at 10 AM on Friday, May 10th. Of course, that doesn't mean I am finished with school. I am continuing on to Ph.D. So that means this summer I will be taking Accelerated Spanish (every morning 8AM-noon). Then I will have a full load in the fall as well.
The bad news is that a close friend of mine, Jay, has been in an auto accident. He was driving back from spending the weekend in Minneapolis with his parents when he hit a freak ice storm (yes, in Spring) and the car rolled. He has a head injury. He spent four days in a light coma and is now conscious. But he is very confused and will probably be in rehab for a long time -- in Minneapolis. We drove up to visit him last Sunday. It was good to see him. I miss him a lot. Him and I usually spend a lot of time together.
Meanwhile, things are crazy here. We are in the midst of finals and moving. Yes, moving. We found a bigger house and officially move in today. Of course, I have been over there painting and fixing things for a week. We can't wait to start living there this weekend. Of course, Lon and Troy have too many finals and papers to help much, so Tina and I have done most of the packing. And since she is pregnant, I have done most of the painting. We have a month overlap and will need it to get everything done. But we are pushing to get most of the "living" stuff over in time for the graduation and housewarming party on Sat., May 11 at 5 PM. If you are in the area, you are welcome to join us.
Well, I have to give Troy a ride to class and go run errands before my classes. I will keep in touch.
